Connor froze, grasping the side of the rock to keep himself on his feet. He could hear the scrambling of feet and the crashing of undergrowth in the distance, that song intensifying then dying down again. He dropped his profile low again and moved to Jake's side as quickly as he could manage. His hands shook as he removed his outer shirt carefully, then used his good arm to pull the thin black t-shirt up from the wound.
The skin glistened blue, and just under his skin rested a peculiar mesh of silicon, metal, and wire.
"B'fore you freak out, I'm not an android," he muttered. "Got into an accident, got a lot of work done. It'll heal over like the real thing eventually."
